It has started again, the greatest art bonanza of Switzerland. artgenève, the art fair that lasts four days starting today (29 Jan). This fair is all about contemporary art, a.k.a. the newest art created. It aims strongly for art lovers in and around Geneva, but the art has international quality, just like the city it is organized in.

It is for the fourth time that artgenève takes place. In a beautiful mansion on the water side is where it all happens. Of course, there is a multiply of foods, talks and events organized around the art fair. It is merely a pleasant surrounding for the art, that has to speak for itself. International art galleries show some works by artists they represent and their exhibitions are carefully curated.
But as is the aim of any art fair, this is the place to make deals. And here in Geneva is where you find the atmosphere of the art bizz. Exciting, but prepare to go only if you’re really interested in the art itself. With or without a budget, if you’re looking for entertainment, last week’s design fair Maison & Objet in Paris might have been more your cup of tea.
